ISS-EWATUS on 6 Photographic Biennale of University of Silesia
In October 2016 ISS-EWATUS took part in 6 Photographic Biennale of University of Silesia "Science - impossible-possible". Photo "Map of water images ‑ save water and enjoy it in life, Carmel, February 2016" submitted for the competition have been qualified for the exhibition, which will be presented in April 2017.

The impacts of innovation in FP7/H2020 projects" took place on 17 June 2016. ISS-EWATUS coordinator Ewa Magiera, together with group of participants took part, among other Chrysi Laspidou chaired session FP7 ICT Projects 2013 and presented ISS-EWATUS validation places, Safa El-Jamal invited to join to watersocial.org platform.
Congress SMART - Intelligent Cities, Wrocław, 25.05.2016
ISS-EWATUS took part in one of the Congress SMART - Intelligent Cities, which was organised in Wrocław on 25th of May 2016.
Representative of ISS-EWATUS (from US) presented poster and delivered a speech in expert session, entitled "ISS-EWATUS as an example of an innovative informatics system for the management of water resources in the city and households".
Congress in Wrocław is one of four organized in Poland in 2016 edition: the first in Płock (4.04.), second in Wrocław, third in Cracow (22.06), fourth in Poznań (8.09). ISS-EWATUS is one of the Congress Partner.

CySWater 2016 as part of CPS Week 2016, Vienna, Austria, 11-14.04.2016
2nd International Workshop on Cyber-Physical System for Smart Water Networks, CySWater 2016 (11th of April) was held as part of the CPS Week 2016, which took place at Vienna, Austria on 11th-14th April 2016 LINK.
In January 2015 the World Economic Forum ranked water crisis as the #1 global risk based on impact to society, as a measure of devastation Triggered by the alerting consequences on the global population, smart water management has become a key policy for the 21st century, setting out the framework for sustainable solutions on water resources utilization. As a result, ICT in general, and CPS in particular have been blended with the water infrastructure, towards an emerging engineering field, coined as Smart Water Networks.
Driven by the engineering and research challenges, the objective of CySWater 2016 is to bring together researchers and engineers from the fields of Communications/Networking, Learning/Processing, and Control and practitioners from the Water Industry to both share their experiences, as well as formulate novel CPS paradigms for fulfilling the vision of Smart Water Networks. Emphasis will be given to both theoretical modelling, as well as modern exemplars that respond to different aspects of the water life-cycle.
Chrysi Laspidou from CERTH represented ISS-EWATUS project on that event. She chaired a Session 1 - CPS for Smart Water Networks: Control, Performance and Applications and made a presentation Daily Multivariate Forecasting of Water Demand in a Touristic Island with the Use of ANN and ANFIS (Dimitrios Kofinas, Elpiniki Papageorgiou, Chrysi Laspidou, Nikolaos Mellios, and Konstantinos Kokkinos) [view ppt], see program http://www.ics.forth.gr/spl/cyswater2016/program.html
SWAN 2016, 6th Annual Conference, London, UK, 5-6.04.2016

2nd International Electronic Conference on Sensors and Applications, 15-30.11.2015
ISS-EWATUS took part in the 2nd online International Electronic Conference on Sensors and Applications, organized 15-30 November 2015. Participants from CERTH (Kofinas D., Mellios N., Laspidou C.) published presentation and paper "Spatial and temporal disaggregation of water demand and leakage of the water distribution network in Skiathos, Greece".
ICT 2015 in Lisbon, 20-22.10.2015
ISS-EWATUS project took part in ICT 2015, the largest ICT event organized by the European Commission together with the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, in Lisbon, Portugal on 20-22 October 2015. The ICT 2015 event comprised a number of parallel activities, e.g. conference, exhibition, networking meetings and thematic sessions. During ICT2015 Innovate, Connect, Transform ISS-EWATUS, as a member of ICT4Water Cluster, participated in the following activities, co-organized by Cluster: 1) ICT4Water booth during the off-site exhibition in Praça do Comércio, Lisbon, fully opened to the general public from 18 to 22 October 2015. ICT4Water booth was visited by Guenther OETTINGER - Commissioner for Digital Economy & Society; 2) Networking meeting Smart Water for the Smart City and the IoT.

On 21st of October 2015 in Katowice, Faculty of Law and Administration of University of Silesia took palce conference Nauka, Administracja i Biznes dla Smart City (Science, Administration and Business for Smart City). The representative of ISS-EWATUS, took part in that event with presentation Efektywne wykorzystanie wody w Smart City na przykładzie inicjatywy ICT4Water (Efficient water usage in the Smart City as an example of ICT4Water initiatives).
Special day on Skiathos, Greece, 26.09.2015
On 26th of September 2015 in Skiathos, Greece there was a meeting of Greek Mayors to discuss development opportunities for the islands of the North Sporades island complex, of which Skiathos island is a part. Chrysi Laspidou (CERTH) had a chance to address the Mayors and make a presentation of the ISS-EWATUS project, while she stood by a poster for the project and spent more time with people who had extra comments/questions. 60 participants took part in that spatial day meeting - Mayors and other stakeholders involved in local and regional authorities, as well as Skiathos island residents and other participants from the local community. Overall it was a very successful event and a great opportunity to get the local community involved. The presentation was in Greek.

Jose L. Salmeron (UPO) represented ISS-EWATUS project on 2015 International Meeting of the Network of Grey Systems, 22-24 September 2015 in Bucharest, Rumania. J.L. Salmeron as the Keynote Speaker presented the FCM-based model for forecasting the daily water demand.
ICT4Water Open Day, Barcelona, 22.09.2015
22nd od September 2015 in Barelona took place the reference event of ICT applied to water ICT4Water Open Day. During the meeting among over:
- Head of Smart Management Systems Unit at Eurecat, Gabriel Anzaldi, presented The ICTWater cluster.
- Policy/Project Officer European Commission, DG Connect Unit H5 – Smart Cities & Sustainability, Grażyna Wojcieszko, presented ICT4Water roadmap and opportunities in H2020.
- Manager, International Smart Business en Doxa Innova&Smart, María Galindo, presented Smart Cities vision based on the Barcelona case.
- Five ICT4Water cluster projects (iWIDGET, EFFINET, UrbanWater, IceWater, WatERP) which are finishing their projects presented the results.
- Poster session ICTWater Cluster Projects took place.

ISS-EWATUS on GIS Odyssey 2015 Conference, 7-11.09.2015, Perugia, Italy
ISS EWATUS took part in the 22nd International Conference and Exhibition "Geographical Information Systems" GIS Odyssey 2015 organised in Perugia, Italy, 7-11 September 2015. The representative of ISS-EWATUS (US) presented report "ICT Water Management in Smart City" about ICT4Water Consortium achievements in ICT water management in Smart City, in Smart City sessions. The discussion about ICT water management in Smart City based on tasks realised by ICT4Water and ISS-EWATUS project was carried out as well. ISS EWATUS took part in the 13th Computer Control for Water Industry (CCWI2015) conference held in Leicester, UK from the 2th - 4th September 2015. The CCWI conference series brings together researchers and water practitioners with an interest in current challenges and solutions for the water industry. ISS-EWATUS has been represented on the ITISE 2015 (International work-conference on Time Series Analysis) which aim was to provide a discussion forum for scientists, engineers, educators and students about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, forecaster, econometric, etc, in the field of time series analysis and forecasting. Paper "Application of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps to the Forecasting of Daily Water Demand" prepared by J.L. Salmeron, W. Froelich and E.I. Papageorgiou has been presented. Proceedings publication is prepared.

Dotsoft presented the ISS EWATUS project in the informational day "Sustainable Management of Water Resources in Safeguarding Drinking Water" that took place in Ioannina, Greece, on the 28th of January 2015, within the European Territorial Cooperation Programme Greece-Italy.
Organisers: The Association of Water Supply basin of Ioannina participating (as lead partner) with the Decentralized Administration of Epirus - Western Macedonia / Water Directorate Epirus, the Province of Taranto (Provincia Taranto) and the Municipality of Gallipoli (Comune Gallipoli).

XI Symposium of the National Coordinators Council of the European Union Research Projects (XI Sympozjum Krajowej Rady Koordynatorów Projektów Badawczych Unii Europejskiej - KRAB) took place in Katowice, 13 November 2014. ISS-EWATUS presented poster of the project. In that event took part coordinator of the ISS-EWATUS project Dr. Ewa Magiera and Prof. Zygmunt Wróbel from University of Silesia.
Summer School on Smart ICT for Water Management in 2016
Andrea-Emilio Rizzoli (SmartH2O project) gave the idea for organisation of a Summer School on Smart ICT for Water Management in 2016, with the support of ETH, at Centro Stefano Franscini in Ascona, near Locarno, on Lake Maggiore. This is among others the opportunity to present some results generated by the cluster projects and that some parallel meetings could be held.
ISS-EWATUS declared participation in co-organizing of this event.

Waterwise Annual Conference 'Gamifying Water' Oxford, 16-17 September 2014
ISS-EWATUS participants from Loughborough University and University of Silesia are representing ISS-EWATUS project on the 2014 Waterwise Conference.
The part of the conference will be a panel specifically for EU FP7 ICT projects on the application of gamification for water efficiency.

Elpiniki Papageorgiou (CERTH) attended the 2014 IEEE WCCI Congress, Beijing, China, 6-11 July 2014. She presented the research work, entitled: "ICLA Imperialist Competitive Learning Algorithm for Fuzzy Cognitive Map: Application to Water Demand Forecasting", at the special session: WeF1-2 Methods and Applications of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps. The IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI) is the largest technical event in the field of computational intelligence. IEEE WCCI 2014 hosted three conferences: The 2014 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN 2014), the 2014 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE 2014), and the 2014 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE CEC 2014).
Water Innovation Europe 2014 Conference,25-26 June 2014, Brussels
Chrysi Laspidou (CERTH) attended the Water Innovation Europe 2014 conference which was dedicated to the theme ‘Water: Green Tape or Blue Gold?’. The conference took place on 25-26 of June 2014 at the Diamant Centre in Brussels. In line with the title of the event, the conference focused its attention on the economic opportunities for the European water sector and on providing input to the drafting process of Horizon 2020 Work Programme for 2016-2017, with an emphasis on green economy.
